Q. Why is the information Leased on an annual basis?
A. In a business database on average there are 3 changes per firm in a year. It can be anything from a move, a new key person, a title change, a promotion. The key to quality data is keeping it up-to-date.
Using old data sets you back, whereas fresh data sparks new sales, just one new updated name can be the executive that buys your product or service.
Just as you have the option to renew your insurance policy or your car lease, the data is renewable.
Q. Why is it more expensive to lease the database electronically than in a paper directory?
A. The excel database offers more options than the paper version. You can mail merge the file for mailings, printing one or numerous key executives from the same company onto your mailers.
Select just female executives by using the Ms. Mrs. or Miss field on the spread sheet of data. It can also be used to monitor your salespeople's calls, especially if your team works by industry and or zip code. You can printout lists of who you'd like your team to call on and have them report back to you on progress and sales.
Example: A commercial realtor wants to target all the law firms in a specific zip code, only firms with 20 plus employees and eliminate the branch locations. In seconds you have a custom list of those leads for mailing and sales calls. Most importantly you know how many prospects you have.
If your salespeople report on a weekly or monthly basis, you can have the same printout to inquire and monitor results, sales and closing ratios.
The zip code breakdowns are also helpful in dividing the leads fairly if salespeople work by territory. One rep may have 500 more (and better) prospects than other sales executives. Example: Some zips are more remote with few industry prospects whereas others are vibrant zips full of potential prospects.
Q. The paper directory includes updates. The excel spreadsheet also comes with updates. Are they the same updates?
A. No, only a small portion of the overall calls and updated research are printed in the paper format whereas thousands of changes are made each month in the excel version. We try to draw more attention to the firms in the printed update. Example: If there is a new bank President, a large business has moved, a major corporation is expanding we will print that in the paper update.
All changes are reflected in the excel version, Example: There's a new assistant manager at Burger King, well as exciting as that may be for the new assistant manager we don't deem that as something our clients need their attention drawn to. Yet again, a new VP of Human Resources could be a great lead for our clients so that would go in the paper version, of course it's also in the excel version.
Other examples of data that would go into the excel version could be a new email address, adding a website, changing a suite number, decreasing or increasing the size of a firm.
Q. Is the printed directory an advertising book?
A. No, it's a Sales Lead Book. We don't take advertising however we are happy to promote our clients and offer ads in our paper update version of which most are emailed. We do not charge our clients for these ads.
Q. What type of business uses your services?
A. Basically any business looking to increase their corporate sales. Our clients range from the smallest home based businesses to the largest corporations, from fundraising to government. Primarily the data is used for sales leads however market surveys and data reflecting numbers of prospects help firms base realistic projections.
Q. How often are the firms updated?
A. Every business is called a minimum of once a year. Example a gas station we won't call more than once a year. Certain industries are called frequently throughout a 12 month period, such as hotels. Most companies with 50+ employees are called 2-3 times a year or whenever we are alerted to changes through media sources.
Q. How do you obtain your data, what is your source?
A. Depending on the city, The Coachella Valley/Palm Springs area was started from scratch using the local phone book back in 1994 with raw data. Phoenix was crossed with our existing database and a telephone company list of larger firms. No one source is enough. We combine many resources as we have found some firms do not list in the typical phone books.
We do specifically call each company to verify the data, therefore all the information we list is information the company has given and verified. In some cases data is gathered first through a website but if for any reason we can not personally verify the information with a live person we reflect that in our codes, example AM = Answering Machine, that way our clients know we tried to obtain the data and at least at that time couldn't verify what we gathered. We keep track of those firms and usually verify it a few weeks or months later.
Q. How many firms refuse to give you information?
A. Less than 1% refuse to give data and we reflect that with a IR = Info Refused code. 99% of active firms are helpful and pleasant. Usually the IR's are not the type of firm our clients would want to do business with. Just as we reflect the IR codes we often put a separate note in of a receptionist or staff member had been particularly helpful such as Great Receptionist.
Q. Is there a report of Firms planning to move, before the move had taken place?
A. Yes! The last question our researchers ask is, Are you planning to Open, Move or Expand in the next year?
It's a labor intensive report but they are great leads to contact BEFORE they have opened their doors.
Perfect for commercial realtors if they haven't chosen the office yet, office furniture, business solutions, telecommunications, business offering events for office launches, grand openings, catering, insurance, advertising/media and more!
Q. We have looked at other lists for less money than Prime Prospects/Contacts Influential. Why should we pay more?
A. These days it seems more than ever before these list brokers are coming out of cyber space. It's simple, you get what you pay for. Our client testimonials prove our data is hands down, quality information. If you are looking for a "cheap list" to do half a job, we aren't the source for you, but why spend any money on a database that's missing the names you need to make a sale?
Q. How does your database compare to large national forms such as Info USA, Dun & Bradstreet, Hoovers etc?
A. The national firms are just that, national. We don't have millions of names or residential listings. If you need a residential list for multiple cities or even a business list for all of the US they can supply you with a list.
If you want great local quality data for the 3 areas we cover there is no question you will have the upper hand in a competitive marketplace. In our printed directories we actually list the date we called and verified our data, try obtaining that from a national company!
